Viele wunderbare Sachen sind in diesem Jahr passiert was unser Herman Prigann Legacy Project betrifft. Hermans Arbeit wurde in verschiedenen Artikeln und Büchern erwähnt und war das Thema einer Diplomarbeit eines amerikanischen Studenten (darüber hätte sich Herman ganz besonders gefreut). Mit der Hilfe von Dr. Dieter Ronte haben wir Hermans Archiv ein permanentes Zuhause gefunden (mehr darüber in einem weiterem Post) und wir haben zwei Schenkungen an Museen gemacht. Eine davon ist das Thema dieses Posts.
Herman lebte jahrelang auf Mallorca. Die Insel spielte in seiner künstlerischen Arbeit, ganz besonders in seiner Malerei, eine bedeutende Rolle. Daher fanden wir es wichtig, dass seine Arbeit auf der Insel eine permanente Präsenz hat. Wir freuen uns sehr, dass zwei seiner Bilder – Platons Höhle (1993) und Die Schamanin (1997) – jetzt Teil der Sammlung des Museums Can Prunera in Soller sind. Eva Choung-Fux, eine gute Freundin und wunderbare Künstlerin, war uns dabei eine große Hilfe. Bis zum 31 Jänner zeigt Can Prunera, Evas Retrospektive Desprès de la fi del món.

This has been a busy year so far, and we have lots of wonderful news about the Herman Prigann Legacy Project. Herman’s work was mentioned in several articles and books and was the subject of an American graduate student’s thesis (this would have made Herman particularly happy). With the help of Dr. Dieter Ronte, we found a permanent home for Herman’s archive (more about that in a separate post). And we made a donation to two museums! One of them is the subject of this post.
Herman lived on Mallorca for many years. The island played a significant role in his artistic process, particularly in his painting. We therefore found it important that part of his work remain on the island. We are very happy that two of his paintings – Platons Höhle (Plato’s Cave, 1993) and Die Schamanin (The Shaman, 1997) – are now part of the permanent collection of the Can Prunera Museum in Soller. Eva Choung-Fux, a great artist and wonderful friend, helped us immensely in making this donation happen. Until January 31, Can Prunera is showing a retrospective of her work, Desprès de la fi del món.

Este año se ha dado mucho en el Herman Prigann Legacy Project y tenemos varias buenas noticias. El trabajo de Herman ha sido mencionado en varios artículos y libros y un estudiante en Norte America basó su tesis en el mismo (ésto sobre todo, hubiera alegrado mucho a Herman). Con ayuda de Dr. Dieter Ronte encontramos un hogar permanente para el material de archivo de las obras de Herman (más sobre esto en un post aparte) e hicimos una donación a dos Museos. Uno de ellos, el tema de este post.
Herman vivió en Mallorca durante muchos años. La isla fue muy importante en su proceso artístico, sobre todo en sus cuadros. Por ello era importante para nosotras que parte de su obra permaneciese en la isla. Estamos muy contentas de que dos de sus cuadros – Platons Höhle (La cueva de Platón, 1993) y Die Schamanin (La Chamana, 1997)- forman parte ahora de la colección del Museo Ca´n Prunera en Sóller. Eva Choung-Fux, una gran artista y maravillosa amiga, nos ayudó muchísimo en hacer posible esta donación. Hasta el 31 de Enero, Ca´n Prunera ofrece la exposición “Després de la fi del món”, una restrospectiva de la obra de la artista.
